Coop Student

Dynamix had the pleasure of being host to a co-op student from Milliken Mills High School for the past four months.

Ways to avoid SPAM

One of the biggest complaints we get is about SPAM.  Clients often ask how they can avoid SPAM.  Even if you have a SPAM filter, you may still get SPAM as SPAM filters will not completely filter out 100% of SPAM.

If you do not have an enterprise level SPAM filter and is overloaded with SPAM, you should speak to your IT staff about getting one.  If you have one and is still getting lots of SPAM, your filter may require some adjustments.

Although our governments have implemented laws about SPAM, it is still a major problem in the IT industry.  Knowing ways to avoid SPAM may help you cut down on some.  From the immortal words of GI Joe…”Knowing is only half the battle”. 

What type of DVD should I use?

I’m at the local computer store looking through their assortment of different DVDs and trying to figure out which type to buy.  I pick up the one that’s in the middle of the road in terms of price.  I bring it home and try burning some files to it.  The DVD burning software tells me it was successful but when I try using the DVD on another system, it cannot read the files.  To make a long story short, it turns out my DVD writer does not support DVD+R.  I had to return the DVDs and buy DVD-R type DVDs.
